Water Water Everywhere

Ok so painting may not be urgent, but shower curtains are a must if we don’t want to continue flooding the bathroom each shower!

I really didn’t want to go down the PVC shower curtain path as not only are they nasty for the environment at the end of their lifespan, but they are loaded with chemicals that are released by the hot water and steam as we shower… so we breath in a toxic steam… no thanks! So, I went for PEVA (Still a plastic and a vinyl – may have to go hemp next time – but does NOT contain the toxins chlorine and phthalate).  In terms of looks, you probably wouldn’t notice they were any different from a PVC curtain, but they do feel a little less plasticy.

I bought my curtains from ROBERT GREEN (www.RobertGreen.com), but you will find many other suppliers. They come in a range of colours and patterns. I am really happy with them. I also recommend the metal hoops – less likely to break, and less plastic! AND the curtains were VERY reasonable in price, $18 for our main shower and $10 for the laundry shower.
